Size of the folder in Explorer
You need a hard drive that almost fills and you wonder what folders are still so great? Not an easy task to find out without additional software. Fortunately, there is the Folder Size program that shows you which folders in Explorer now yet so great. This is certainly a possibility, already present in Windows XP should be, why this is not the case is a mystery to me.
The program runs as a service on a Windows XP machine and creates an additional column in your tree with the exact size of each folder. You will be amazed how many times some folders have, just look at the size of the folder "Documents and Settings".
Installing the program is very simple:
1. Download the program from the homepage
2. Walk through the steps of the installation process and press Complete.
3. Now go to your tree and put the display in detail by selecting View - Details.
4. Right click on the column headers at the top, such as Name
5. Now choose Mapgrootte and column jumps appear
6. Drag the column header to the right place
7. Go to Tools - Folder Options, choose View and select Apply to All Folders
8. So, now you always get the size of the folder view in Windows Explorer
