Privacy with your phone
Recently it was announced that 8000 is already used iPhones in Belgium, and this notwithstanding the fact that they normally are not yet on the market.
How can this be you wonder?
However, if an adjustment of the software (= hack) on the iPhone is the device can still be used here.
How do they know exactly how much is used in Belgium?
The operators know that using the IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity), which is unique for each mobile. These data are linked to the simdata - and thus identity of the user - and a year saved. Each phone has an IMEI number so, which means that the operators (Base, Mobistar and Proximus) really know what phone you are calling (and how many times a year you buy a new phone).
Nice effect: thus it is not really appealing to steal a phone. If you steal a phone and that your own Sim card then assign it need not take long before we know who to that unit is on the phone. Of course, you or your IMEI number of your phone and know that by playing to the police if your phone is stolen. To the IMEI number of your phone to know press * # 06 # on your phone and you get a 15-character long number, the IMEI number of your phone. You can find the song on the sticker under the battery your phone. (See photo). Keep this number and if your phone ever be stolen, he may by the police with this number be found quickly. It goes without saying that only the police data can be obtained from the operators.
Hopefully you never need the IMEI code, but you never know ...
